Early Intervention

What is "Early Intervention?"

Early intervention is the terminology used to describe therapeutic services (from birth to 3 years of age) to help babies and toddlers obtain developmental skills.

Why is Early Intervention Important?

Research shows that intervention is more likely to be effective when provided earlier in life in comparison to waiting until later. Connection in the brain necessary for learning, behavior, and health are more adaptable in the first three years of life. Early intervention can have a significant impact on a child's ability to learn new skills and can promote future success

What do I do if I am concerned about my child's developmental progression and am wanting to seek early intervention?

First, you need to talk with your child's doctor if you are noticing signs of delay in your child. Your doctor will be able to refer you to our office for a comprehensive evaluation. During this evaluation, we will be able to assess developmental skills and show you where your child is performing in comparison to age-matched peers. If your child is experiencing delays, we will be able to make an individualized therapy plan to best assist your child in meeting necessary developmental milestones and promote overall success. Our best advice to parents is not to wait. Why wait to see if your child "grows out of it," when you can provide them with the resources now to ensure that they reach their fullest potential?
